The one I prefer is King David, who has shown he can be competitive around Lingfield and comes here on a workable mark. His recent Chelmsford fourth was solid enough, finishing only around three lengths behind the winner in a race where he was competitive for a long way, and his earlier form includes several respectable efforts at this level. He has more substance to his profile than some of these rivals and looks capable of bouncing back to his best on this track.

Jackson Street is a selection built heavily around proven course suitability. He's already won over this exact Lingfield 7f C&D and, crucially, returns from the same handicap mark of 52 that he won from previously. Recent figures of 4-4-3 also suggest he's gradually finding his best form again. Michael Attwater knows how to target this particular contest, having trained last year's winner, and Seamus Cronin's claim could prove useful. If he's settled just behind the early pace and delivered off the final bend, conditions look ideal for him.

Much better run latest when third at Wolverhampton from a wide draw. Dropped another pound for this, but with the stable going well, a repeat of this will see him go close.

She finished a close 4th that day over 6f, staying on strong from the rear. Something to build on, this 7f should suit her and she has a good jockey booking for this low grade handicap.

Ashford Hill (7) won a C6 here back in Jan off a 46 in a 0-55 under Isobelle and showed signs of getting back in the game in June when third in a C6. But last week was pants off a 51 in C5 0-70 and could find the return to C6 0-55 today a tad more doable. EW
