The Vegas Raider has definite appeal on his old form, especially as he has a strong record here of one win and three places from four runs. He is also proven over this distance, on this ground, and with the tongue-tie and visor fitted, his mark of 94 gives him a chance if he finds his mojo today.

Awful last season when pulling up three times over hurdles. However, made a better effort first time out over fences when fourth on seasonal debut 7 weeks ago, only beaten 7.25 lengths. With that run under its belt, may get much nearer for a top trainer/jockey combo at an over-inflated price!

Home By The Sea showed promise by starting well on handicap hurdles debut at Killarney, in-second-to-last outing before understandably fading as the race went on. It went off as a 20/1 shot that day in what, to me, looks like a tougher level of opposition than facing here today. The adjustment in odds seems like a big overcorrection in my eyes, with not enough leeway given to one subpar half-race.

Victoria Kesia showed the level's capability when third of 14 at Downpatrick in June and looked the winner for large periods of that outing before slightly running out of gas on that occasion over the 2m2f. So the slight drop back to 2m½f today could prove fruitful. Looks a juicy price for a place here with 5 on offer, and the win equity is more than live as well.
